Meet Our Founder
Gabriel Matthews is the Founder and Principal Consultant of EquiVant Strategies, where he helps clients and partners turn insight into action. His work bridges research and practice, blending psychological science with real-world consulting to help teams lead and adapt with confidence.
With over a decade of experience across nonprofits, foundations, and public agencies, Gabriel has guided leaders through strategic planning, evaluation, and organizational change. His approach reflects rigor and empathy by clarifying direction while building the internal capacity needed to sustain progress. These experiences have enabled clients to realign governance, embed equity into daily operations, and strengthen decision-making at every level.
Gabriel holds an MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is a PhD(c) in International Psychology. His focus on organizations and systems at a global level sharpens his ability to translate complex theory into clear, measurable strategy.
Known for his grounded, collaborative style, Gabriel balances strategic depth with human connection. He believes transformation happens when people feel supported and challenged - a philosophy that defines how EquiVant Strategies partners with its clients.
